Stampin' Write™ Marker Sympathy Card

Friends, today I'm sharing a second card that uses Stampin' Write™ Markers as ink. Have you ever tried this technique?

If you missed my first card, it is a good introduction. Find it here.

And here's today's card:

My stamped sentiment and crab image come from the now-retired Seaside Bay Stamp Set. However, any sentiment and image could be substituted.

To make this card, I started by using the Unbounded Love Dies to cut two labels, from Basic White Cardstock and Silver Foil Sheets.

I'm so happy that we once again have Silver Foil Sheets! They add a lovely bit of bling to any project:

My stamped sentiment was created by using the brush tip of a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Write™ Marker to thoroughly cover the sentiment stamp. I then used the Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write™ Marker to brush in some additional colour. I stamped the sentiment onto the label.

To create the crab image, I thoroughly brushed the stamp (using the brush tip) with Lemon Lime as well. Then I lightly brushed Lost Lagoon across the stamp. I used a Pretty Peacock Stampin' Write™ Marker to outline the image, plus I coloured in the claws and legs. Then I stamped the image and used the coordinating dies to cut it out.

The amazing thing about using these three markers is that I ended up creating an entire different colour from any of them! This ability to make new colours is a real advantage of the Stampin' Write™ Markers. Here's one set of Stampin' Write™ Markers:

To assemble, I offset and adhered the two labels. Then I attached a 2" x 5" strip of Thoughtful Designs Specialty DSP to a 2 1/4" x 5 1/4" strip of Silver Foil Sheets. I added the strips to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Old Olive Cardstock card base.

I'm really loving the new Thoughtful Designs Specialty DSP, with its shiny detailing and beautiful colour gradations. Here's a closer look:

To finish the card, I attached the labels and crab. Then I tied a bow and attached it. This ribbon is now retired, but Silver Trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack would be an excellent substitute.

Friends, I hope you enjoyed this project and will try out using Stampin' Write™ Markers as ink! It's a really fun technique with lots of possibilities.
