I've always particularly enjoyed the four Sundays of the Advent season. The Advent wreath with its four candles, the seasonal readings, and the songs - traditional and modern - all anticipate so well the arrival of Christmas. Every year, I find they seem both familiar and new, as Advent does its work in us.
Since this week marks the first Sunday in Advent, a card showing a church seems appropriate:
The third and final in our series, this card features the Peace to You stamp set. (If you missed the other cards, you can find them here and here.) At the end of this post, you'll find a photo supply list. To make the card, follow these steps:
- Using Stylish Shapes Dies, cut a Basic White 2” circle.
- Emboss a 2” x 5 1/2” Basic White strip with Wintry 3D Embossing Folder (snowflake pattern).
- Stamp sentiment onto Basic White circle in Night of Navy.
- Stamp large church image onto Basic White Cardstock. Tip: Coat image well with ink and try on scrap first. When stamping, press firmly on all parts of stamp block to ensure even pressure and good ink coverage on image. If you have a Stamparatus, you may wish to use it.
- Cut around outline of image with scissors or paper trimmer. Follow slope on bottom of image.
- Adhere image to a 3” White Glimmer Paper square. Then adhere to a 3 1/2” Orchid Oasis square.
- Attach embossed snowflake strip to a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” Night of Navy card base.
- Attach a 4” x 5 1/4” Basic White panel to card interior. Decorate as desired.
- Add stamped church image panel on Orchid Oasis square to card front with dimensionals.
- Adhere stamped circle to card, using Mini Glue Dots and dimensionals.
- Add Sprig Trinkets as desired, attaching with Mini Glue Dots.
- Add Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels as desired.
