Peace to You Snowflake Vellum Card

After having our first snowfall last weekend - even though it didn't last - I'm thinking about the white stuff. It always feels so peaceful and cozy to watch the flakes floating by, when you're inside with a cuppa and a good book.

So today's card features the beautiful Snowflake Specialty Vellum, along with the Peace to You stamp set. You can find a clickable photo list of the items I used at the end of this post. And if you missed yesterday's Peace to You card, featuring the large nativity image, you can find it here

To make this card, I started by die-cutting a Basic White Cardstock label, using the Waves Dies. I rubbed my Powder Pal over the label to remove any humidity or stray dust, then I  stamped my sentiment from the Peace to You stamp set in invisible Versamark Ink. I placed the label on a scrap paper, then poured Silver Embossing Powder generously over it. Next I used my heat tool to emboss the ink. If you've never embossed, it is super easy - if you can use a hairdryer, you can use a heat tool! And it looks like magic, as the image turns from dull powder to a shiny, raised texture.

To assemble the card, I began by adhering a 3 3/4" x 5" panel of Snowflake Specialty Vellum to a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of Silver Foil Specialty paper. I used glue dots stuck strategically to the silver parts of the vellum, so that the adhesive would not be visible from the front of the card.

Next I fed the Metallic Mesh Ribbon through the label, trimming so that there was enough ribbon to secure to the back of the Silver Foil panel. I added a little Stampin' Seal to the back of the label and pressed the ribbon into it, so it wouldn't move. Then I attached dimensionals to the label and adhered it to the vellum, before adhering the ribbon to the back of the Silver Foil with Stampin' Seal. I also tied a bow and added it to the label with a glue dot.

The final steps were to use dimensionals to attach the entire card front to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Thick White Cardstock card base and to embellish with silver Festive Pearls.
