Peace to You Silent Night Card

With the first Sunday of Advent coming up in just a few days, we have started to get into holiday mode in earnest. On the weekend, we decorated our tree and fireplace mantel, and next we'll put up the outdoor lights. The holidays are coming!

Today's card reflects the coming of Advent with a sacred theme, featuring the Peace to You stamp set. I went with a dark background and then added bright colours for contrast:

To begin, I did the die cutting and embossing. I used Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a Basic White label to fit my chosen sentiment and a Red Glimmer Paper label slightly larger than the label for the sentiment. I then embossed a 4” x 5 1/4” Night of Navy panel with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

Next I did the stamping. I first stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy onto my Basic White label. Then I stamped the large nativity image onto Basic White Cardstock. Tip: Coat image well with ink and try on scrap first. When stamping, press firmly on all parts of stamp block to ensure even pressure and good ink coverage on image. I coloured the image with Stampin’ Blends: Light Real Red, Light Orchid Oasis, Dark Parakeet Party, and Dark Tahitian Tide. I cut around the outline of the image using my paper trimmer. (I didn't worry about precisely cutting the bottom part of the image, as it would be covered by the labels.)

To assemble the card, I started by adhering the image to a 2 1/4” x 3 1/2” piece of Tahitian Tide Cardstock. Then I adhered those pieces to a 2 1/2” x 3 3/4” piece of Parakeet Party Cardstock. I attached the embossed Night of Navy panel to a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” Thick White card base. Using dimensionals, I attached the stamped label to the Red Glimmer label with dimensionals. Then I adhered the stamped nativity image and labels to the card base with dimensionals, too. Finally, I added Sprig Trinkets with Mini Glue Dots.

The stamp set includes another large image and four versatile sentiments that can be used along with this set's images or on their own:
