Now that the white stuff has started to appear nearly everywhere across Canada, how about a snowflake card to celebrate the colder weather? Today's card, my riff on a design by American demonstrator Ronda Wade, features the beautiful Ringed with Nature Bundle, which includes a stamp set, hybrid embossing folder, and dies. I'll include a clickable photo supply list at the end of this post. Ce produit est également disponible en français.
Although it may not be immediately obvious, this card also features the versatile Storybook Gnomes DSP. Several of the patterns do not involve gnomes at all and can be used on a variety of cards. One of my goals with this card (spoiler alert - and tomorrow's card, too!) was to use the gnome paper in a completely different way:
I started by using the dies to cut a tree ring from Early Espresso Cardstock and the matching interior from Basic White. I stamped the sentiment onto the white interior in Night of Navy and adhered it to the tree ring. Then I used the embossing folder to emboss a 2" x 5 1/2" Soft Suede strip with tree rings. I attached a length of Balmy Blue & White 3/8" Double-Stitched Ribbon to the strip, securing with Mini Glue Dots on the back. Then I adhered the strip to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Balmy Blue card base.
Next I attached a 3" x 4" DSP panel to a 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" Night of Navy panel. Using dimensionals, I adhered the tree rings to the middle and tucked two Wonderful Snowflakes under their edges. Then I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels. To finish the card, I attached the entire panel to the card base with dimensionals, then added a bow with glue dots.
