Cheerful Daisies Die Cut Card

Friends, today I have the second card to share, featuring the lovely Cheerful Daisies Stamps & Dies.

While yesterday's card created blooms by using the stamp set, today's card does so using the dies instead. If you missed yesterday's card, find it here.

Here's my card:

To make this card, I started by stamping my sentiment from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set in Lost Lagoon Ink onto a 1/2" wide scrap of Petal Pink Cardstock. I used Paper Snips scissors to cut both edges of the sentiment at an angle.

Next, I used the Cheerful Daisies Dies to cut out:

  • 2 pieces of greenery from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
  • a set of daisy outlines from Basic White Cardstock
  • a set of daisy interiors from Basic White Cardstock
I also used Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a medium-sized circle from Petal Pink Cardstock. These dies are my absolute favourites, and I use them on the majority of my cards year-round, due to their versatility:

To create the daisy centrepiece, I first coloured the centres of the daisy outlines in Daffodil Delight. To do so, I picked up some ink from a Daffodil Delight Ink Pad onto an acrylic block, used a water painter to create a watercolour wash, then brushed the colour onto the daisies. Stampin' Blends™ or a Stampin' Write™ marker would also work well.

I then adhered the daisy interiors to the daisy outlines with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I used the same glue to attach the daisies to the circle, arranging as desired. Before the glue was dry, I lifted up the daisies to place the greenery bits underneath them, then pressed firmly to adhere. With Stampin' Dimensionals™, I added the sentiment to the daisy piece.

The remaining assembly was a snap! I first adhered a 3" x 5" piece of Hello, Irresistible DSP to the right side of a 3 1/2" x 5" panel of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock. With Stampin' Dimensionals™, I added the daisy centrepiece to the panel, and then the panel to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Flirty Flamingo Cardstock card base.

My final step was embellishing with Loose Frosted Dots. I love these dots, which have a wonderful shine to them. They also come in a whopping 360-piece pack, making them a great deal:

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you'll share your projects made with these lovely stamps & dies, too. Have a wonderful long weekend!
