Friends, today I'm sharing the 2nd card in my series featuring the Hot Air Balloon Bundle. This card was inspired by a design by my friend, Genevieve Ko.
These cards were part of this month's $15 card class that I offer to my Creative Cafe team. Learn more here.
Here's today's Shaker Card:
To make this card, I started by cutting out a tag from Basic White Cardstock, using the Tailor Made Tags Dies. These fabulous dies are retiring soon but are still in stock as I write.
With Fresh Freesia Ink, I stamped my sentiment from the Hot Air Balloon Stamp Set onto the tag.
While the Hot Air Balloon Stamps & Dies are not retiring, the Bundle price of 10% off is disappearing as of April 30. Here's the bundle, with so many colourful possibilities:
Next, I embossed a 3" x 4" piece of Bubble Bath Cardstock. I used the now-discontinued Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders, but any embossing folder of your choice would work.
Using the Hot Air Balloon Dies, I cut out:
- a balloon at the top centre of the Bubble Bath panel
- a matching balloon from the Lighter Than Air DSP
- the larger of the balloon baskets from the Lighter Than Air DSP
- two clouds from Basic White Cardstock
I then flipped over the Bubble Bath panel and adhered a piece of Gold Celebrations Specialty DSP. (Exact dimensions are not important, as long as it completely covers the balloon opening.)
The Gold Celebrations Specialty DSP is actually acetate, with lots of creative possibilities. It's retiring as of April 30:
Next, I adhered a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of Lighter Than Air DSP to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base. I positioned the balloon die cut on the DSP, then arranged the Bubble Bath panel over it until I could see the balloon through the opening. Once I was happy with the positioning, I adhered the balloon die cut to the card base.
I then wrapped Lemon Lolly twine from the Baker's Twine Three Color Pack around the bottom of the Bubble Bath panel twice, tying near the right edge. I left enough twine to be able to tie in the tag later.
Happily, the versatile Twine Three Color Pack will not be retiring, as it's in the 2024 Annual Catalogue:
To create the shaker element on the card, I flipped over the Bubble Bath panel, then applied Foam Adhesive Strips to make a square around the balloon opening. I also added a strip to the bottom of the panel, below the ribbon.🎨 2024 In Color™ Club
