Friends, we've had an interesting time here in southern New Brunswick this week. We experienced a very severe wind storm, bringing with it long and widespread power outages across much of the province and affecting about 130,000 customers at one point. Our power was out for 44 hours - and some are still without power, not scheduled to be restored until the weekend. What a crazy time!
So for today, I'm going to share another card to help get us back into the holiday spirit. If you missed the others featuring the Beary Cute Stamp Set, they are here:
Here's my card, which is based on a swap I received awhile ago. Unfortunately I cannot find the original card with the name of the card-maker, but I tweaked their design to suit my supplies and colour scheme:
I've included a photo supply list at the end of this post, which opens into my online store.
To make this card, I started by stamping my sentiment from the Beary Cute Stamp Set in Pretty Peacock Ink onto the top of a 3 3/4" x 5" Basic White Cardstock panel.
I also used the same ink to stamp a polar bear (with scarf) onto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock. I then cut out the bear with Paper Snips scissors.
Next, I used Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the largest circle from Melon Mambo Ink. I also used Chic Dies to cut out snowflakes in 3 different sizes, from Silver Foil Specialty Pack paper. Since this paper is no longer available, a good substitute would be Holographic Trio Specialty Paper.
Here are the Chic Dies, which are great to use year-round:
To assemble, I first adhered the Melon Mambo circle to the Basic White Cardstock panel, overlapping the right edge. I added a 1/2" tall scrap of Pretty Peacock Cardstock, whose left edge I had cut at an angle.
From there, I attached the snowflakes, then added the polar bear using Stampin' Dimensionals™. I embellished with Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio, then added the panel to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base with Stampin' Dimensionals™.
