Sweet Songbirds Fancy Flora Card

Friends, today I'm starting a series featuring the Sweet Songbirds Bundle, in anticipation of spring's imminent arrival. (Yay!) These projects are my riffs on designs by Ronda Wade, an American demonstrator. Each card is made with minimal supplies and uses mostly paper, stamps, and ink.

Here's my first card:

To make this card, I started by die cutting the 2nd largest scalloped rectangle from Basic White Cardstock, using Scalloped Contours Dies. Then I stamped my sentiments from the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set on it in Starry Sky Ink. I also added the bird's feet in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Next, I stamped the bird and wing in Orchid Oasis Ink onto a 3" x 2" piece of Basic White Cardstock. In order to use the cardstock economically for punching, I stamped the bird and wing as follows, then punched them out with the Songbird Builder Punch. I also stamped eyes in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

To assemble the card, I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base. I added two pieces of Fancy Flora DSP with measurements of 2" x 4" and 3" x 4", leaving a little space between them in the middle. The Fancy Flora DSP is very versatile, offering a whopping 12 different colours in both muted and vibrant tones:

I layered on the scalloped rectangle and bird using Stampin' Dimensionals, then also attached the bird with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to add the wing. As a final touch, I embellished with different colours of 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots.
