Party Puffins Big Splash Holiday Card

Friends, I had so much fun making a holiday-themed puffin card the other day that I simply had to make another! If you missed my previous puffin cards, find the holiday card here and the year-round card (plus the tale of my trip to a puffin nesting colony!) here.

This puffin card features the Party Puffins stamp set once again, as well as the versatile Celebrate Everything DSP. The holiday sentiment comes from the Seal of Approval stamp set - which has had its price slashed drastically as part of the Last Chance Sale that started today. It and many other retiring products are discounted, so you can get your retail therapy for less, just in time for the holidays! I'll include the sale link, plus a clickable photo supply list, at the end of this post.

To make the card, I used Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a Basic White label, plus the largest and second-largest squares from Basic White and Granny Apple Green cardstock. I stamped the water-themed holiday sentiment from Seal of Approval onto the label in Poppy Parade ink. Then I stamped the puffin in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto the square, arranged in diamond orientation. I coloured over any uneven black ink areas with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, then coloured the puffin with Stampin' Blends: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Soft Succulent, and Poppy Parade (using the dark versions of the markers). I also stamped the holly leaves from Snowman Magic onto a Basic White scrap, then cut them out with Snowman Dies.

For assembly, I started by adhering a 3 3/4" x 5" Celebrate Everything DSP panel to a 4" x 5 1/4" Poppy Parade panel, then attached them both to my 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic Black card base with dimensionals. I then adhered the puffin to the Granny Apple Green square/diamond. I attached the diamonds and the label to the card with dimensionals and used a Mini Dimensional to adhere the holly leaves. My final steps were to attach a Black & White Gingham Ribbon with Mini Glue Dots and add Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels as holly berries.
