Easter Lilies He Is Risen Card

Friends, today I'm sharing my third and final card featuring the lovely Easter Lilies Stamp Set. If you missed the previous cards, see them here:

This card celebrates Easter Day itself - Resurrection Sunday. For my husband and me, it's a particularly significant occasion. So much so that we named our daughter "Anastasia," which means "resurrection." 🙂

Here's my card:

To make this card, I started by die cutting a tag from Basic White Cardstock using the Tailor Made Tags Dies. Then I stamped my sentiment onto it using the Easter Lilies Stamp Set and Flirty Flamingo Ink.

These terrific dies have been a mainstay in my card-making for a long time. So I'll miss them when they retire at the end of April. If you need a set, now is the time! Once they sell out, they won't be re-stocked.

Here are the Tailor Made Tags Dies, still available as of the writing of this post:

Next, I stamped a lily, buds, and leaves onto Basic White Cardstock in Versamark Ink. Then I sprinkled Copper powder onto it from the Metallics Embossing Powders. I tapped off the excess and returned it to the jar, then used the Heat Tool to emboss it to a shiny, raised surface.

Here's the Easter Lilies Stamp Set, which I've really enjoyed. I love that the sentiments can be used year-round and with images from other stamp sets.

Using Small Blending Brushes, I brushed some Lemon Lolly Ink into the centre of the lily and the bottom of the buds. Then I added a bit of Flirty Flamingo Ink. I brushed Parakeet Party Ink into the leaves.

Public Service Announcement: Price increases on several basics are coming May 1st. Small Blending Brushes (3-pack) will go from $16.50 to $20. So now is a great time to stock up!

I then cut out the blended images. I used the Easter Lilies Dies - but it's easy to use Paper Snips scissors instead. Since we are so close to their retirement at the end of April, the dies unfortunately have gone out of stock and been discontinued early.

The moral of the story is - if you see something you want that's retiring soon, get it ASAP! It may not be there by tomorrow or next week. Here's the easiest way to find out which items are retiring:

To assemble the card, I added a 3" x 5 1/2" Lemon Lolly Cardstock panel to the centre of a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base. I layered on a 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" Basic White Cardstock panel that I'd embossed with the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folders. (Any embossing folder of your choice would work, or you could simply leave out the embossing.)

I fed a small length of Lemon Lolly ribbon from the 3/8" Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack through the hole in my tag, then tied once and trimmed. This 3-pack of ribbon is also retiring at the end of April.

Using Stampin' Dimensionals™, I attached the tag and stamped images to the card. Then I embellished with Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems, another item that's retiring soon.
