Painted Lavender Fractured Technique Card & Blog Hop

Hello from Saint Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada! I'm right across the border from Calais, Maine, USA. Both communities are part of the traditional territory and current home of the Passamaquoddy, and I'm grateful that they share this beautiful place with us.

Today we're hopping across the Stampin' Up!® world, with the Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop. I'm honoured to be part of this talented international group!

This month, we're featuring the Painted Lavender Bundle. It's part of a larger Perennial Lavender Suite, with gorgeous paper, embellishments, and more!

Here's my card:

Please be sure to check out the Blog Hop Links near the end of this post, to see all the other cards. I'll include a clickable photo supply list at the end of this post.

To make my card, I started by using Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a diamond from Basic White Cardstock. I stamped my sentiment from the Perennial Postage Bundle onto it in Gorgeous Grape Ink. (The Perennial Postage Bundle is part of the Perennial Lavender Suite.)

I also stamped the tiny butterflies from the Painted Lavender Bundle in Berry Burst Ink onto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock. I then used the dies to cut them out.

Here's the beautiful Painted Lavender Bundle:

The assembly of my card was done using the Fractured Technique, something new that I learned this autumn. It's not difficult but makes a very interesting result! Here's how I did it:

I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of the gorgeous Perennial Lavender DSP. I also cut 1/4" wide strips of Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper in Lost Lagoon.

I adhered my stamped diamond onto the centre of the DSP panel. I then matched one of the Lost Lagoon strips up to the end of one side of the diamond and adhered it. (The strip went beyond the edge of the panel.) I worked my way along each side of the diamond in a similar way.

Here's how the panel looked in progress:

Once I had all the paper strips attached, I flipped over the panel and used Paper Snips to cut off the excess.

I then used Stampin' Dimensionals™ to attach the panel to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Gorgeous Grape Cardstock card panel. Using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals™, I added the stamped butterflies. My final step was embellishing with Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

Friends, I hope you enjoyed my project! Please check out the other cards and also my Special Offers, below. I wish you a wonderfully crafty day!
