Sweet Songbirds Sweet Sorbet Card

Friends, today we have the 3rd card in our series featuring the Sweet Songbirds Bundle, welcoming spring. Have you started your countdown yet? Spring starts in just 2 more days!

These cards use designs by American demonstrator Ronda Wade, and I tweaked them a bit. If you missed the last two cards, you can find them here and here.

Today's card features a bright Sweet Sorbet colour scheme:

To make this card, I started by die cutting the 2nd largest scalloped rectangle from Basic White Cardstock, using Scalloped Contours Dies. Then I stamped my sentiment from the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set on it in Sweet Sorbet Ink. I also added the bird's feet and music notes (stamped twice) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. A helpful hint for the music notes is to slightly rotate the stamp before adding the 2nd image.

Next, I stamped the bird and wing in Sweet Sorbet Ink onto a 3" x 2" piece of Basic White Cardstock. In order to use the cardstock economically for punching, I stamped the bird and wing as follows, then punched them out with the Songbird Builder Punch. I also stamped eyes in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

To assemble the card, I started with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base. I added a 2" x 4" strip of Tea Boutique DSP and a 3" x 4" piece of 2022-2024 In Color 6" x 6" DSP, leaving a little space between them in the middle. The In Color DSP offers several different patterns in the 5 In Colors:

I layered on the scalloped rectangle and bird using Stampin' Dimensionals, then also attached the bird with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to add the wing. As a final touch, I embellished with different colours of 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots.
