With the balmy weather on the weekend, we had a rare November beach day! My daughter and I spent our time on New River Beach, the mile-long sand beach in the community where I grew up. While there, we splashed in the waves in our bare feet, looked for sand dollars, and inspected tidal pools.
As a result, I have one more seashell holiday card for you:
This card features one of my favourite stamp sets, Friends Are Like Seashells. This and other products used are shown in a photo list at the end of this post. Clicking each item's photo will take you to the product in my online store.
For my colour scheme, I chose Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana, reminiscent of Mid-Century Modern hues. I first used Tailor Made Tags Dies to cut a tag from Basic White Cardstock. Then I stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Candy Canes stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink.
For the 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" seashell panel, I stamped the large seashells from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set in Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana. I rotated the images and stamped across the panel's edges to give a random feel. Then I added highlights with Wink of Stella for a subtly glittered effect appropriate for the holidays.
To assemble the card, I created a card mat by adhering the stamped panel to a 3 3/4" x 5" Flirty Flamingo panel, and then to a 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White panel. Next, I wrapped Pool Party 3/8" Sheer Ribbon across the card mat, securing it on the back with glue dots. I attached the tag with dimensionals, then added a bow. Since the ribbon is so sheer, I put two pieces together and tied them in a single bow for a brighter, layered look. Then I added Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels. The final step was to adhere the card mat to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Coastal Cabana card base with dimensionals.
This card could also be made with other seashells from the stamp set. For example, we could try a sand dollar theme, like this beautiful shell we found at the beach:
