Friends, let me be the first (?) to wish you Happy Holidays in 2024!
In honour of my July birthday, I'm celebrating Christmas in July all month long. I'll be showing holiday cards in all my blog & social media posts from now thru July 31.
Before I get to my card, I'm excited to invite you to my party!
You're invited to my FREE Christmas in July Online Kit Party coming up next week! It's a great way to get a start on Christmas cards! Come along for the holiday kit demos, games & prizes. Plus I'll do a live demo of a card made with NEW supplies, mid-week! Invite your friends, and come join the fun!
Now I'd like to share today's card with you:
Today's simple card is made with the stamp set from one of my all-time favourite Paper Pumpkin Kits: Home for the Holidays. The stamp set includes very useful holiday sentiments, in a decorative font that stamps beautifully. Check out one more of the sentiments in the kit card below!
The kit's now available for current subscribers at a discounted rate of just $28! It makes 8 gorgeous cards. The refill (all the supplies except ink & stamps) is only $15! See my Card of the Month made with the kit here.
But back to today's card! To make my traditional red & green holiday card, I started by cutting two nested circles from Basic White and Mossy Meadow Cardstocks, using Stylish Shapes Dies. (They're my absolute favourite dies and I'd estimate I use them on at least half the cards I make.)
Here are the super-useful Stylish Shapes Dies:
I stamped my sentiment from the Home for the Holidays Stamp Set onto the white circle in Cherry Cobbler Ink. I find I don't use this colour much outside the holiday season, so it's a pleasure to use it in the summertime!
I then adhered the circles together. I tied a bow in Black & Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Check Ribbon, trimmed with Paper Snips Scissors, and added it to the circles with a Mini Glue Dot™.
This ribbon adds a lovely rustic charm and a smartly tailored look at the same time:
Next, I adhered a 3" x 5 1/4" strip of Traditions of St Nick DSP to a 4" x 5 1/4" Cherry Cobbler Cardstock panel.
Since the Traditions of St Nick was not released in a catalogue, I find it has been somewhat overlooked. But it's a beautiful series of patterns, in various hues of the traditional holiday reds & greens.
Here's a look at the paper:
To finish the card, I used Stampin' Dimensionals™ to add the panel to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base and the circles to the card.
My final step was embellishing with Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems.
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope to see you at my Christmas in July Kit Party on Facebook! Join my Christmas in July Kit Party here
