Sale-A-Bration Card & Blog Hop

Hello and Happy Holidays from Saint Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada! I'm just across the border from Calais, Maine, USA. Both communities are part of the traditional territory and current home of the Passamaquoddy, and I'm grateful that they share this beautiful place with us.

Today we're hopping across the Stampin' Up!® world, with the Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop. I'm honoured to be part of this talented international community!

This month, we're featuring items from Sale-A-Bration, which starts January 4th. With every $60 or $120 spend (pre-tax/shipping), you can choose a FREE item! This year's sale offers the absolute best freebie selection I've ever seen!

Here's my card:

Please be sure to check out the Blog Hop Links near the end of this post, to see all the other cards. I'll include a clickable photo supply list at the end of this post.

My card features the Sale-A-Bration Jungle Pals Stamp Set and Dies. The stamps are FREE with a $60 spend. Aren't they cute?

The dies are FREE with a $120 spend and I couldn't wait to try them:

To make this card, I started by stamping a sloth in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock. I coloured it with Stampin' Blends™ using the two Pecan Pie markers and Light Crumb Cake. I used the Jungle Pals dies to cut it out.

Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Perennial Postage Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a 1 1/8" x 2 1/2" Basic White Cardstock scrap. Then I cut a chevron in the right side of the sentiment.

Perennial Postage is a stamp set from the new January to April catalogue releasing January 4th.

I then did the following die cutting and embossing, using the:
  • Fern 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a 3 3/4" x 5" panel of Parakeet Party Cardstock.
  • Jungle Pals dies to cut a tree trunk from Copper Clay Cardstock.
  • Jungle Pals dies to cut two long bits of grass and three large leaves from Shaded Spruce Cardstock.
  • Jungle Pals dies to cut two small leaves and eight long leaves from Old Olive Cardstock.
To assemble, I attached the embossed panel to a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of Basic White Cardstock. I attached them to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic Black Cardstock card base with Stampin' Dimensionals™. I also added a 3 3/4" x 5" Basic White Cardstock panel to the card's interior.

Next I put together the scene, adding elements with Stampin' Dimensionals™ as desired. I added a bow made from Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon, securing with Mini Glue Dots™. I finished by embellishing with Opaque Faceted Gems, available FREE with $60 spend during Sale-A-Bration.

Friends, I hope you enjoyed my project! Please check out the other cards and also my Special Offers, below.
