Weekend at the Atlantic Stampers Demonstrator Retreat

Wow, what a weekend!

Together with 75 other Stampin' Up!® demonstrators from across the 4 Atlantic provinces, I attended the Atlantic Stampers Demonstrator Retreat.

It was SO good to meet demonstrators from all over New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador! We had lots of time to meet & greet, swap cards, and just chat.

I (2nd from left) even got to meet two fellow Atlantic demo teammates who, like me, have Genevieve Ko as their upline! Maureen (middle) is from Newfoundland and Kathy (2nd from right) comes from PEI.

Bonus - Stampin' Up!® had designated this weekend as one of their 35 for 35 events! To celebrate their 35th anniversary, the company's been sending someone from their head office in Riverton, Utah to attend each of just 35 chosen events around the world. How great that the retreat was one of them!

At our event, we got to see not one but TWO Stampin' Up!® employees! Jill Taylor, VP Sales & Communication (on the far left) came from Utah, and Genevieve Ko, Demonstrator Development Manager for Canada, came from Ontario. Both are super-approachable and there were lots of chances to chat!

On top of sending good wishes through their employees, Stampin' Up!® also sent each event participant a gift!

The pin above is a special 35-year edition - but that's not all. On the back of each one is a code for 35 free CSVs on our next order! (That's 35 USD.) Stampin' Up!® blows me away with their generosity!

Not to be outdone, the Atlantic Stampers Demonstrator Retreat organizers were extremely generous, too! They gave us some awesome swag - and just a few items are pictured below. (I really love the branded pouch! The colour looks to me to be a mix of Lost Lagoon & Pretty Peacock.)

Besides swag, we also received instructions & supplies for A LOT of projects. Non-traditional stamping projects included coasters, earrings, fabric items, and candles. Maybe you'll see one or more of these come up in future posts as I try them out!

There was also lots of card swapping going on, both organized ahead of time and just organically with interested new friends. I'll be sharing some of these designs in future posts as well.

Last but not least, we made many Make & Takes! Today I'll show you just one - and I'll keep others for future posts. So stay tuned! Here's today's project:

I changed a few elements from the sample card they showed, so what you see above is my own twist. (Creativity is encouraged!)

I've included a clickable supply list at the end of this post.

To make the card, I first stamped my sentiment from the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set in Copper Clay Ink, onto a Basic White Cardstock diamond cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Next, I added two strips of All About Autumn DSP (1/4" x 4 1/4" and 5/8" x 4 1/4") to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Crumb Cake Cardstock card base. I then layered on two corn cobs die cut from Crushed Curry and Old Olive Cardstock, using the Fruitful Blessings Bundle Dies. I attached the stamped diamond, then added a bow made out of Copper Clay trim, from the 2023-2025 In Color™ Jute Trim.

Thanks for reading my story of the retreat, friends! I hope you enjoyed the project, too. Happy fall, y'all!
