Friends, how about a beautiful birthday card to be ready for 2023 occasions?
Today I'll be using the Favored Flowers DSP, available FREE with every $60 spend during Sale-A-Bration:
This floral card features the gorgeous oval dies and a sentiment from the Framed Florets Bundle. (I'll include a clickable photo supply list for you at the end of this post.) I went with a colour scheme taken from the paper: black, Fresh Freesia, and silver.
To make the card, I started by cutting a 4 1/4" x 11" Basic Black card base and scoring at 5 1/2". Then I did my die cutting. First, I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of the medium-toned Silver Foil paper (with a slightly purple hue) from the Silver Foil Specialty Pack, then used the smallest Framed Florets oval die to cut out the middle. This created two die-cut ovals: I kept the exterior oval to use on the card and set aside the interior oval for another project.
Next, I adhered a 3 3/4" x 5" panel of Favored Flowers DSP to the Silver Foil panel with the middle cut out. By cutting the silver oval I needed from the middle of the panel, I saved paper - and once I adhered the DSP, nobody could see that the middle was missing. Win, win! Then I attached the panels to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I then completed the rest of the die cutting, cutting the smallest oval in Basic Black and the largest, fancy oval in Silver Foil. I used the interior black oval and exterior silver oval in this project. (See photo.)
Next I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto the interior black oval, applied Silver Metallic Embossing Powder, and used my Heat Tool to emboss. Then I turned the black oval on its back and used household tape to attach it to the back of the first exterior silver oval I'd cut. With Stampin' Dimensionals, I adhered them to the card front. Using tiny pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals, I also attached the large, fancy silver oval.
To finish the card front, I added a Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon bow with Mini Glue Dots, and I embellished with Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
To provide a writing surface inside the card, I added a 3 3/4" x 5" Fresh Freesia panel, then decorated with a scrap of the DSP.
