Leaves of Holly Santa Express Card & Blog Hop

Hello from Saint Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada - just across the border from Calais, Maine, USA!

Today I'm delighted to welcome folks from all over the Stampin' Up!® world, as part of the fantastic Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop organized by Kylie & Bruno Bertucci in Australia. We're showcasing the cards we make to say thank you to our lovely customers. You'll find the full list of blog links at the bottom of this post. I'll also include a clickable photo supply list of items used in my card that will take you to the individual products in my online store.

Drawing on the colours in the Santa Express DSP that I used, my card's colour palette includes Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron and Petal Pink. Featured products are the Santa Express DSP, Wonderful Snowflakes, and Leaves of Holly stamp set. (Ce produit est également disponible en français: Jeu d'estampes en résine Feuilles de houx.)

To make the card, I first used the border die from the Scalloped Contours die set to cut into a 2 1/4" x 5" piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock. Then I stamped my sentiment from Leaves of Holly onto a 1 1/2" x 5" piece of Petal Pink Cardstock and adhered the two pieces together.

The rest of the card was simply layering and sticking. I started by adhering a 4" x 5 1/4" Poppy Parade Panel to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Thick White Cardstock card base. Then I added a 3 3/4" x 5" panel of Santa's Express DSP. Next, I adhered the scalloped-edged piece with the sentiment attached to it. Finally, I used a dimensional to add a Wonderful Snowflake and then embellished with Rhinestone Basic Jewels for some sparkle.

Since I used several different patterns of Santa Express DSP on my cards, I also changed the cardstock colours, depending on what worked best: Petal Pink became Mint Macaron on some cards, while Poppy Parade became Shaded Spruce. It was fun to experiment with all the different colour combinations, as you can see below!
