Rustic Harvest Thanksgiving Card

Happy Thanksgiving, friends across Canada!

However you spend the holiday weekend, I hope you have the chance to enjoy some delicious harvest fruit & veggies, along with some gorgeous colours. Our trees are just starting to turn here in southwestern New Brunswick, but it promises to be a spectacular display!

My Thanksgiving card features the Rustic Harvest DSP, with its beautiful pumpkins. I had been waiting to use this paper, as my favourite Thanksgiving dessert has always been pumpkin pie - with the "secret ingredient" of molasses to add delectable richness and depth. What's yours, friends?

I started by cutting a label with the Painted Labels Dies. I used Shimmery White Cardstock to give it a little sparkle. Then I stamped the sentiment with the Painted Pheasant stamp set, using Mossy Meadow ink.

To assemble the card, I adhered a 3 3/4" x 5" DSP panel to a 4" x 5 1/4" Cajun Craze panel, then wrapped a length of Natural 1/2" Woven Ribbon around it, securing it on the back with glue dots. Then I layered on several die cuts, starting with a large round vellum label cut with Painted Labels Dies. Next came two die cuts made with Chic Dies: a Cajun Craze sparkly mesh cut from Metallic & Shimmer paper and two Mossy Meadow leaves. Then I attached the label with dimensionals and the bow with glue dots. Finally, I added the completed card mat to the card base with dimensionals.
