I've always been a fan of this colourful season. The brilliant red, orange, yellow, and variegated leaves are nearing their peak here in southwestern New Brunswick, so it's pure eye candy to go for a walk! Today's card is a nod to the seasonal beauty:
Featuring the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper (DSP), this card uses stamps and dies from other suites to complete the look. I really love making unlikely pairings to achieve a unique result. So I used a sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set and a label die cut from the Waves Dies.
First, I cut out a label in Crushed Curry and stamped the sentiment in black. Then I cut a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" panel of Rustic Harvest DSP and coloured it with Stampin' Blends: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green. The next step was to create a card mat by layering the coloured-in DSP onto two cardstock panels: 3 3/4" x 5" in Garden Green and then 4" x 5 1/4" in Basic Black.
I fed the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon through the label, attached the label to the card with dimensionals, and adhered the ribbon to the back of the card mat with Mini Glue Dots. Then I tied a bow and added it to the label with another glue dot. After attaching the Classic Matte Dots, the final step was to adhere the card mat to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Crushed Curry card base.
