Summer Catch-Up & FREE Class

Friends, how is your summer going thus far?

It's been a busy one for our family, with a return to travel at last! So I wanted to give you a little update on our activities and schedule. I'd love to hear what you're up to also!

We've already spent some time at our cottage on Lake Simcoe, north of Toronto. Here's our wooded oasis:

Since it was my birthday last weekend, we had booked a trip to Machias Seal Island, a conservation island where puffins nest. 

Unfortunately, rough seas cancelled the outing. But we still had ample time to explore Grand Manan Island, a 90-minute ferry ride from the southwest New Brunswick mainland.

While on Grand Manan, I celebrated my birthday. I love birthdays - whether mine or someone else's - and I love to make a big deal over them. 

The eateries on Grand Manan definitely helped make my birthday special. Just check out the fabulous croissant lobster roll I had at the equally fabulous Well House Cafe!

The only downside to this summer has been the weather. Everywhere we've traveled, it's been a total washout with rain and/or fog! 

But as you can see, we believe that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. So we've had a grand time regardless.

Having said that, I was super-happy to see the sun today. I thoroughly enjoyed my picturesque bike ride along the Skutik/Saint Croix River.
