Blueberry Bunches Easy Watercolour Demo

Friends, today I have an easy watercolour technique to share! We'll also be doing a little magic, transforming blueberries into huckleberries!

My card features the Blueberry Bunches Stamp Set. Coming from a wild blueberry area, I really love this set!

Here's my card:

To make this card, I first stamped the smaller berry image from the Blueberry Bunches Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Basic White Cardstock. I also stamped my sentiment in Moody Mauve Ink onto a 3/4" x 3 3/4" scrap of Basic White Cardstock and cut chevron shapes in both ends with Paper Snips scissors.

Next, I stamped an acrylic stamp block into my Moody Mauve Ink Pad. Using the smallest Water Painter, I squeezed water onto the block to make a watercolour ink. (Adjust to colour preferences.) I then daubed the Water Painter into the watercolour and painted the berries.

I dipped the Water Painter brush into drops of ink on the block that were not watered down, then added shadowing on the berries for a darker colour.

I then repeated this process to colour the leaves, using Granny Apple Green Ink to watercolour the leaves, then Shaded Spruce to add shadowing. Using Paper Snips scissors, I cut out the berries and leaves.

Here are the Water Painters, which come in a pack of 3 different sizes:

To assemble the card, I added a 2" x 5 1/4" strip of Winter Meadow DSP to a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of Moody Mauve Cardstock.

I love how the Winter Meadow DSP, which came out for Christmas, can be used for this card anytime of year!

Winter Meadow is one of my favourite DSPs, and here's a closer look:

I added the panel to a 5 1/5" x 8 1/2" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base.

Next, I assembled the centrepiece of the card, using Mini Glue Dots™ to adhere the berry image to my vellum die cut, made with the mid-sized die of the Scalloped Contours Dies. I also added the sentiment, then adhered the vellum to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals™.

To finish the card, I added a bow made from Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon, then embellished with Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels.
