Hello from along the tidal Skutik (St Croix) River! I'm here in Saint Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada - just a few minutes' walk from Calais, Maine, USA.
This beautiful area is connected to the Bay of Fundy, home of the world's highest tides. It's the traditional territory and home of the Passamaquoddy, and I'm grateful they share it with us.

My September customer card features the Whale Watching Stamp Set. I'll include a clickable photo supply list at the end of this post.
When I saw this stamp set, I just had to have it! I lived on Canada's Pacific coast, where orcas are often sighted, during my grad school years.
But the set also has a connection to my current location, near the Bay of Fundy. Orca sightings are rare here, but an orca affectionately named Old Thom is a visitor (or resident?) and has been seen several times this summer.
He seems to travel with a pod of Atlantic White-Sided Dolphins, and it's a thrill for anyone to catch a glimpse of him.
To make this card that honours Old Thom for taking the path less traveled, I started by using the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut the 2nd largest scalloped rectangle from Basic Black Cardstock.
I also cut a 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" panel of Basic White Cardstock. With Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I stamped the orca onto the bottom, then added the cliffs nearer to the top.
To colour the images, I used Stampin' Blends™ alcohol markers. I love them for their smooth application, without leaving lines, and the blending possibilities. To create the sky, I started with Light Calypso Coral on the horizon, then blended in first Dark Petal Pink and Light Petal Pink. I used Light Pool Party on the water, then highlighted with Dark Pool Party. For the cliffs, I used Light Smoky Slate and Light Old Olive, highlighting with Dark Old Olive.
To assemble, I added the coloured panel to the scalloped rectangle. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached them to a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Basic White Cardstock panel. I also used Stampin' Dimensionals™ to adhere the panels to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Basic Black Cardstock card base. I added a 3 3/4" x 5" Basic White Cardstock panel to the interior.
My final step was embellishing with Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels. They're a great economic choice, as they come in a pack of 200 and work on so many projects year-round!
Thanks for joining me today, friends! I hope you enjoyed the project and this terrific new stamp set.
